'The Power of Your Voice' John Belt

God wants you to be released into your full potential in Christ. One of the most powerful weapons that we have as believers is our own voice. Just as God has the most powerful voice - so we have a powerful voice because we've been made after His image and likeness. When God anoints our words He can use us in such powerful ways. Many times the enemy of our souls attempts to shut down our voice. Don't ever allow that to happen to you. God wants you to have full confidence to speak His heart and mind as He is for you!

The Power of Your Voice

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3

There is a constant war against the voice of God’s people. In the beginning we see how God “spoke” then things happened. As we are created in the image of God we also have great power in our voice. Man has power in his voice – whether it be for evil or good. From the angle of those who are “born again” and filled with the Holy Spirit we have access to amazing power to be used for God’s glory and the expansion of His kingdom in the earth.

Know that God wants to use your voice to speak life and set people free. It is God’s intention to anoint our words so that heaven’s breakthrough might occur wherever we go. The word “prophet” carries a lofty impression on people – as it should. At the same time all of God’s people are called to be “prophetic” or prophets at various levels of experience. Jesus closely associated Himself with the prophets saying that we should not be surprised when we are persecuted for His Name – for so they persecuted “the prophets” who were before us. Here He is associating us with the prophets. He also says that the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than John the Baptist – the last prophet before Jesus came.

A prophet in the most basic definition is one who lives close to God, hears God and speaks the words He’s been given. Jesus tells us that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. An even deeper thought is that we don’t have the Spirit only upon us but the Spirit has been given to dwell within us. There is a greater measure that God has entrusted to us as believers – a measure that we need to walk in.

God wants to liberate your voice to speak His words. You are called to thrive, not survive. As you thrive your voice will become more power by the Spirit. As your voice begins to decree the will of God, the heart of God and the mind of the Spirit you will begin to see breakthrough happen continually.

It is the voice empowered by the Spirit that breaks through the darkness and shifts atmospheres. You can effect spiritual change through your yielded obedience to the Holy Spirit. Through your prayers, your worship, your decrees of God’s Word and revealed will for your life and the prophetic promises that He has given you – the divine cycle of His blessings are released in your life and through your life changing all that concerns you.

The voice of the LORD is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The LORD is over many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; The voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars, Yes, the LORD splinters the cedars of Lebanon. Psalms 29:3-5

The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars. The key word here is “breaks”. It is the innate nature of the voice of God that powerfully busts through and shatters every dark resistance. Through prophetic persistence there is crack formed in the weakening membrane or resisting stronghold where it eventually gives way to a full shattering. This breaking brings forth the flood of heaven rushing in, releasing every aspect of the blessing of God for our lives, even heaven on earth!

The voice of the Lord through YOU makes a difference. As carriers of His light, revelation and anointing we are equipped to break the heavy yokes of darkness in every place. We are those who usher in His Kingdom realities for people to see and experience. Individually and corporately we speak God’s divine counsel to bring change in every sphere of society. It is the glory and presence of God dwelling in us that makes the difference as we yield ourselves to His plans.

Realize the power of “having a voice” anointed by His Spirit. Vocalize and engage your spirit to speak God’s words. Be that prophetic voice that makes a difference – speaking light and life into every place.
