LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Until I was 40 years old, I worked for others, in those other people’s ministries.
I had learned in my high school business classes that working as a secretarial assistant to someone meant you were taking on a life of service. We were likened to being our boss’s “wife at work.”
What we needed to realize and remember is that whatever we were asked to do was part of our job description, whether it was in writing or not.
Whatever we were asked to help make happen, we needed to have “the attitude of Yes.” We needed to realize that we were there to help make our boss succeed. But not for accolades. Just because that was our job. Our assignment.
As a Christian my whole life, I also realized that’s our purpose as well. Jesus came to serve and so have we. (Matthew 20:28)
I’m not talking about this in a slave way. I’m talking about it in a love way.
Helping another succeed, then seeing them victorious, is one of the most gratifying things on earth. When you’ve helped someone accomplish something and see them onstage accepting an award, it’s like being a mama and seeing your baby take its’ first steps.
At the time I was working for the ministries I worked at, I didn’t realize that I was planting seeds for my own future. Whatever I learned and how I handled myself was all building blocks for what God had in store for me.
To the degree that I applied myself to help others, He would send others to help me when my time would come.
I didn’t do anything for that purpose. Because I didn’t know all of that. But I had the mindset of “do everything as unto the Lord,” as it says in His Word.
(23) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, (24) since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
(Colossians 3:23-24 NIV)
I can remember tucking my kids in bed at night, and as I prayed and read my Bible, seeing and praying that scripture. I recall reminding myself of it throughout the day as I worked for those that I served.
I didn’t know exactly what it meant, except to be obedient and faithful and trust God that it was true.
I remember having conversations with complaining co-workers to encourage them to also have that mindset.
There were a couple of ladies at one ministry job I had that were sweet as can be, but miserable as can be. Especially one older lady. She had the mindset to do things her way and in her timing, and that was that.
There was a new man brought in as the vice president over our area. When he would come into our area and need a check, she put him at the end of the line, and she wouldn’t budge. She would mock and complain about the guy behind his back.
If he came to me, I had read the Word and knew what it said in Proverbs 3:27. It states, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act."
To me, this verse means that if you have the ability to help or provide assistance to someone, you shouldn’t delay or hesitate to do so. It suggests that neglecting to do good when you have the ability to do so is a misuse of the power you may have.
If that man came to me, I was kind and polite and would immediately respond with favor.
In short time, I developed a great respect and appreciation from that man.
I heard via the office grapevine that he was looking for an administrative assistant.
I loved my job but I was a single mom and didn’t make very much money to be raising two small children on. Plus that, it was difficult to hear the constant complaints of the women who worked in my area whenever our boss couldn’t hear them. So I soon felt the nudging of the Lord to put my resume together and interview for the position.
Interestingly, when I went for my interview, the man and his wife greeted me with open arms and praise to God. They had been praying together for me to apply. But they weren’t going to try to “steal” me from the other boss.
That man was hard to work for. But I learned so much. Other people despised him. I loved him and his wife because they had given me favor and encouragement to become and be more than I was doing.
My attitude towards whatever I was asked to do was, “Yes, of course.”
When He would come to me and say, “I was thinking and wondering if it might be possible to do this.” Whatever it was, my response would be, “Yes. We will MAKE it happen.”
I have carried that attitude with me throughout my life. When God comes to me with something, my spirit leaps forward in excitement and expectation of a new adventure.
In the early 2000’s God had me put together a womens conference to train women in every aspect of ministry in three days. One secret to its success was to realize that it wasn’t just “mine.” He said to trust Him and the women and to thus give away each segment of the conference to who it belonged. Don’t micromanage. It was more successful than I could have imagined. 1600 to 1800 women from all over the world attended every time we did it. With just me it was impossible. But God and I and those women together MADE it happen.
“Yes Lord! Let’s MAKE it happen!”
With God, ALL things are possible!!
Therefore, with you and I as well, ALL things ARE possible!!! Because God is our strength and power.
During this season of Pentecost, receive a new surge of wisdom and grace and understanding and fiery power from the Lord. Even a new mindset.
As God speaks to you, respond with a “Yes Lord! Let’s MAKE it happen!” mindset. God wouldn’t ask you to do anything that isn’t right, appropriate, or possible. So the only right answer is “Yes Lord! Let’s MAKE it happen!”
Where God guides, He provides. Even the necessary provision will come as we step forward in our “Yes” to Him.
May the Lord endue you with a renewed surge of His Holy Pentecostal fire and passion for all He has for you to accomplish in this season!
Nothing is impossible for us. Because ALL things ARE possible WITH HIM. Faith without works is dead. It’s time to just do it!
Just say, “Yes Lord! Let’s MAKE it happen!”
Love and Blessings to you!🙏
