'July 4th The Fight For Independence Again! ' Dr Theresa Phillips

I remember the days when July 4th meant a great parade, a family cookout, and time at the park.

The park was alive with the community waving flags, smiling people setting up encampments, each with their own grill.

Hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, watermelon, and soda pop all on the menu.

Play on the swings, have a ball game, walk the park over and over again waving the small flags in hand. Then we would stand in line for a popsicle or watch swimmers in the pool. It was glorious.

Programs for kids such as finger painting, basket weaving, sit-upons, lantern making

(to be lit before fireworks) and live patriotic music at the grandstand.

People dressed in red, white, and blue. Proud to be American.

And yes, someone would always fall in the river, but there were boats and folks to get them out!

We would hear tales of battles, stories of immigration, recognition of our beloved patriots, and more. Some would weep at memories of forefathers and those gone... BUT PROUD TO BE AMERICAN.

After the lantern show, essays read aloud, a soloist and a poem read... and the kids' evening program, we would sit near the river and watch the fireworks display which ALWAYS ended with a ground display of the American flag, then the uproar of clapping, whistling, and thanking God and country... the crowd was ecstatic. We would gather our belongings and head on the path back to cars and home full of great memories. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.

I remember when we could still hear fireworks from other communities after ours went off.

Ahhh, those were the days.

Mother would have us bathe and talk about the day.

What stood out to you? What do you think? What did you learn today? This was a ritual played out in many homes like ours. Then we would tail off to sleep...

Today the fireworks are now in a small park; fewer people come out because there is no room!

Today talk of fear of being proud of being an AMERICAN is everywhere... Protests against Americanism and our fight for freedom attacked by those who really don't care to know our wonderful history.

Just a Fact: The Fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in 1776, declaring the 13 American colonies free from British rule. This declaration was a pivotal moment in the American Revolution, officially marking the colonies' separation from Great Britain.

But what can be done?

I asked our Lord...

He gave me this word...

America, America, I love you. You obeyed my word about possessing the land.

Joshua 1:3

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Do not be ashamed of that.

Deuteronomy 1:8 8 See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the LORD swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.”

Do not be ashamed of that.

America, you have stood up for nations that would defile you. You have been a peacemaker from the beginning. You developed land that was unmanageable. Industry came from you that has transformed the world.

Your farmers feed nations. Your churches have proclaimed the love of Christ and the Gospel throughout the world.

You took care of the hungry, the poor, and you made monuments to your successes. But now you have an enemy lurking at the door, destroying what makes you great.

Your farmers told not to plant. Your church leaders say you no longer need to attend church. Your governmental leaders forgot the constitution they swore an oath to and have declared monarchical attributes throughout your nation. You stand divided between truth and ignorance.

Your people are confused and your children are being abused by ignorance.

And, once again... your independence stands once again in the forefront...

A new battle has begun, one that will take eternal strategies and purpose.

You will see new leaders emerge and fight hard to stay true to the faith and promises.

But I say to you, O America, you have placed leaders without my consent and the whirlwind is loosed upon you...

Hosea 8:7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. It hath no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal. If so it shall yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

You have made politics more important than the gospel and this spirit is swallowing up a nation who should be strong and mighty.

Yet, I still love you, America, and I am rekindling a fire... The embers are being blown upon and you will RISE! I SAID YOU WILL RISE!

Now dust off your Bible, READ and grow for I am illuminating what has been hidden.

Teach this to your children. Read your Constitution. Teach this to your children.

And I say to you

FEAR NOT, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, EVEN TO THE END OF THE AGE, FOR THE END IS NOT YET!

SAYS THE LORD!

An Ambassador of the Kingdom

Dr. Theresa Phillips
