Martha Now Has a Rose Named After Her—Meet the Martha Stewart Hybrid Tea
If there's one flower Martha truly admires, it's roses. She has been growing and caring for this beautiful bloom for over 25 years. As a tribute to Martha's love of roses, she recently shared that Edmunds' Roses named a variety after her: The Martha Stewart Hybrid Tea.
This brand new rose is a hybrid tea with large pink blooms and lush, dark green foliage. But what really sets it apart is its lemon verbena, bergamot, and honeysuckle scent, which adds a lovely fragrance to any garden.
“I am happy about many things these days but one thing that is really special is having a glorious, highly scented, and beautifully colored hybrid tea rose named after me," Martha wrote in an Instagram post.
How to Grow and Care for All the Roses in Your Garden
In the caption, Martha thanked Danielle Dall’Armi, owner of Rose Story Farm, who she worked on this project with for two years. She also gave a shoutout to her head gardener, Ryan McCallister, for taking "such good care" of her roses.
Ryan tested the roses to determine the size of the blooms, the reliability of the bushes, and the scent profile. "We only have 5 'testers' at the farm right now, but in the spring were are supposed to receive 100 or so more," Ryan says.
The Martha Stewart Hybrid Tea is currently available online at EdmundsRoses.com for $39.95 each. "I am so happy that such a great rose is named after me and that many of you will be adding it to your garden," Martha says.
